MORE ABOUT THIS PIECE

May’22 was an interesting month for me as a person and as a creative. I had just come up on a year since I quit my job and about eight months since I started pivoting towards a design career. While this phase in my life has been very liberating, it is not free of doubt. And like clockwork, once I hit the one year mark, I was swimming in questions about my life, my purpose and my future. It was cathartic to say the least to put the metaphorical pen to paper and express my feelings through a sketch. The sketch itself thematically and through its muted palette says so much about how I was feeling. Something that stands out to me about the process of this sketch was how unsure my strokes were (perhaps it also shows in the final result). It is a unique window into the mindset and emotions I was experiencing and I am very excited to see what else this project teaches me about myself as time goes by.
